I love history, and I love history podcasts…I give you the grandfather and biggest of them all…Dan Carlin, “Hardcore History”.
I know you feel the need for 15 hours of detailed coverage on the Khans, the Mongol rulers of the middle ages. 20 hours on the Persian Empire, the same (each) on WW1, the Eastern Front, or the Pacific in WW2.
But he does shorter ones as well – any episode on a distinct subject that goes less than 2 hours is called a “Blitz”.
They are truly phenomenal, and Carlin is a rolled-gold legend. Podcasts to paint your house to (I did).
“Dan Carlin is not a professional historian. He is, however, one of the most gifted storytellers that your ears will ever encounter. He waxes lyrical about the darkest and most violent periods of humanity’s past with uninterrupted passion and drama, often for up to 4 hours at a time. The man is a yarn-spinning machine.”
